I was thinking the same dam thing, but then...the only brunette on screen was very distracting....but hey, she played a lesbian in Emmerdale....for me, win! lol
For a long time now, I thought I was just a survivor, but I'm not. I'm the winner. That's who I am. A Time Lord victorious

I'm not at all surprised or even moved by this announcement. SM mentioned that we would be impressed with this new companion. Unless she is magical or alien or she is way smarter then him(the Doctor not SM!) I can see this as being the same old, same old story. I hope she can at least take care of her self and not "die" every five minutes maybe she will hate The Doctor and turn on him more than once. Also no marriage or babies that just ruins a story. I can't see any child being interested in the affairs of adults, hell I'm an adult and don't want to see marriage and babies on my screen. I also don't want the stories to be based on her or connected to her. God knows that has been done to death already with in the last two seasons of DW. But if she turns out to be evil or even, gods for bid, the Ronnie I'm walking away and hiding in the safety of Classic Who, where at least the companions new there place! I hate it when the brunettes are seen as evil.
That said, we should do a predictions thread on this, see how many of us can follow SM's thoughts and plans for the next season and logically or illogically come up with summary of the next season.

Exciting stuff! I was having a stupid moment, I hadn't even thought about Amy and Rory's replacement! I'd read so much about their exit and it never crossed my mind that someone new would come in. Crikey, how long have I been a DW fan?.....
I saw her in 'Emmerdale' in my soap-watching days. She was alright, more talented than most of the people there! And as for the details about Amy and Rory's exit...............

Just read the news as well. She's pretty and apparently can talk a lot faster than the Doctor. I didn't think that was possible. lol.
I'm also slightly jealous because it wasn't me!!

Definitely cute! I'm somewhat of a purist and looking forward to Who going back to the Doctor and Companion dynamic. Not that I disliked Amy and Rory, but I found the whole marriage/baby business rather distracting.
