Watched this yesterday (really bodes well for TW in Jan)
It was really good (longer than I expected... I had to watch the end on the way home )
One thing that surprised me... so many 'main guest characters' died!!!
Also since I just watched the TV version a couple of days ago cuz Matt Rippy was in it, it seemed a lot more like the Poseidon Adventure than Titanic.
All in all it was a good show (and I already have a vid idea). The Coming soon part was waaaay too short though.
Oh yeah... just remembered... the theme was updated too... sounded cool.

Yes just watched it then i thought i was fantastic, it was very long though, which is never bad, i was tearing up in some parts.. it was really sad.
The 'main characters' were all very very well played, it was shame what had to happen to most of them, and that ass that survived.. i was upset becuase of that.....
Love the new theme very funky, the preview for 'coming soon' was way to short, as per stated above, but it looked really good but only looked like it covered 1-3 episode, which is silly of me to say becuase I know they haven't finished filming the whole season... or have they....?
I loved how when they went to London it was empty, i was expecting a quriky remark like... "Oops" :tease:
Love Kylie, thought she was amazing.
Love the boat setting,
freaky head guy, freaked me out.

I loved it, although I'm going to have to watch the repeat on BBC3 because not a lot was audible over my over excited little cousins
The conker-head guy was indeed freaky and a bit random....

I thought Conker head guy was cute, bless him.Him and Kylie would have made a good couple, they are about the same height!
I thought it was fairly good,Kylie was alot better than i thought she would be!
Sad that so many of the nice Characters died though!
Fave bit, probably the Dr walking slow motion in his suit with music and fire behind him Phwoarrrrrrrrrr :inlove:

Awww it was a great ep, maybe slightly cheesy with the Queen bit but other that it was well done i think! Kylie was a surprise, i thought she wouldn't be very good but she was fab!
And when she grabbed the box to kiss the Doctor! Awww bless it was adorable lol :smile2:

I watched it last night cos I was at work when it aired on Xmas Day.
I thought it was fab, and like many of you have already said, it was a shame that so many of the main 'guest' characters of the story died.
I thought Bannakaffalatta was great, he was such a sweet character, and who'd have thought he was a cyborg.
Kylies performance was great, a lot better than I'd anticipated, It was good to see her acting again.
I also agree with Amanda, it did seem more like the Posideon rather than the Titanic, especially the bit where the doctor says that they are going to have to climb through the ship, and then they have to make their way through the engine shaft.
And when she grabbed the box to kiss the Doctor! Awww bless it was adorable lol :smile2:
I loved that bit, it reminded me of the old 'Yellow Pages' advert that they used to show around Christmas time.

Just quote my post doc11 and you can see how to code it.
And I downloaded the vid and extracted the audio, so here's an mp3 of the new theme.

I saw this the night it aired and loved it, and enjoyed it even more on 2nd viewing. I think it's the best Christmas Special yet; the other two grew on me, but this one I liked right away. I thought the whole cast was lovely. I found many of the choices surprising. I just thought the whole thing was rather classy.

I loved the previous incarnation of the theme tune too, and while the new theme rendition was something of a shock, it wasn't terrible; it was just new. People have trouble with change. They changed the Classic Who theme several times over the course of it's run; this new change to the theme struck me as a continuation of that tradition - bringing it one step closer to the old series, while also moving forward. That's one of the things I love about the new Who, is that it embraces the past, but isn't afraid of change. I think as the series continues, if they keep this new iteration, that people will come to embrace it, and then it will change again. At least I hope so.

Well I do agree that the new theam tune is much better and gives it more edge.

I just prefer the one with the brass section of the orchestra going mad in the background! It's a bit more dramatic or something.

Have to say the new one didn't have quite the impact as the first..... but then, the first did come after several years of non-DoctorWho......
